Outlaw Country Cruise…

Hey y’all… As I posted earlier, I had an amazing time on the Outlaw Country Cruise last week! I’ve gone through my pics and thought I would share a few. You can see the mass of music fans on the deck behind me and my friend Teri. So fun! Of course, there’s my performance with Roger Alan Wade, Warner E. Hodges and Laid Back Country Picker on Friday afternoon. Woohoo!! I also met some super cool people including Kevin (from the band, Shinyribs…see pic below) and Scott (aka, Bullethead, Mojo Nixon’s manager…we have coordinating outfits!). I had great convos with Rosie Flores, Dale Watson, Jim Lauderdale, and Bill Davis from Dash Rip Rock. Name drop much?? I even got some beach time in… in the rain! Overall, it was an awesome time and if you’re ready for it, I recommend booking next year as soon as possible, y’all. And who knows… I might be in the line-up. Um, who do I contact about that? Ha! Until then, come on down to Woodbine to Captain Stan’s Smokehouse this Saturday, 6:30-10pm for a Kellie Parr & Her SideCars show. Let’s hope the rain stays away…I’ll keep you posted. Hope to see y’all soon!

Love, KP

For Mojo…

Howdy, everybody… if you’re wondering why you haven’t heard from me in a while, I’ve been on the Outlaw Country Cruise! I could have posted along the way, but I prefer to experience the fun in the moment and let my thoughts percolate a bit. Before I share any of the awesome times/pics from the cruise, I wanted my first post to be in honor of an extraordinary person who passed away while we were docked in Puerto Rico… Mojo Nixon. It’s hard to believe he’s gone. Mojo was kind, obnoxious, incredibly smart and always ready to share a laugh with his fans. I remembered his wild shows and hilarious songs from my college days, but I really didn’t appreciate his genius until I became a faithful listener of his show on Sirius XM. I was lucky to meet him in Nashville at Americana Fest (see pic) and REALLY fortunate to witness his last show (other pic). Everybody on the ship agreed it was the best he ever played/sounded. He had all of us jumping, dancing and singing along. It was amazing! We’ll miss you Mojo. There will never be another one like you… rest in peace.
